Silk is a native of Canada. academic. Silk was raised in Fredericton. She was her father's daughter Peter Silk, a professor and Ilkay, a playwright and director who was also renowned for her acting. One of Anna's first memories were playing rehearsals and watching her mother perform. Silk featured in a number of commercials while she was young. She completed her studies at St. Thomas University with an Associate of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced at least Two early productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto for acting classes to improve in November of 1999. In the following decade, she moved into Los Angeles. She met her future husband, Seth Cooperman, at an acting training in Los Angeles, in 2007. After getting engaged in 2008, they married in the year 2009. In Fredericton the 10th of April in 2011, after her conversion to Judaism they renewed vows during a Jewish marriage ceremony.
